Visit at Lunden, Varde

Wednesday 11th of April

Yesterday we visited Lunden in Varde, which is a rehabilitation center for brain injured people. Since we had to be there at 9 AM, we all had to get up quite early that morning, but we were all really exited about the day so that wasn't a problem. When we arrived we had a short introduction to the place by Lone, department manager. We then splitted up into to groups, and Søren and Søren went to see Bjarne while Alex and Daniel should see Emil. In the first two hours we talked to Bjarne and Emil and the personal who helped them while we watched them getting dressed and eating breakfast. At 11 AM we got together again and talked about our different observations. Afterwards Lone showed us around in the therapy derpartment and the swimming pool. We also had a talk with the leading physiotherapist and she showed us the exercise room, the special kitchen they have and the room stimulating senses. She had a lot of wishes to new products and things she thought could be easier done. From 1 to 3 PM we had a break where we digitalized and memorized all the impressions we have had until now, and then at 3 PM Bjarne asked us to join his appointment with the communication expert at Lunden. She told us about different communication tools and computers that helped disabled people talk. At 4.30 PM when returned to Aarhus after a day with many new impressions as well as new ideas to products.
